Before I started camming, I was extremely stressed about my bills. After my first week of camming, I am wondering why I didn't start camming sooner!
There are some people that make really good money their first week. I've even heard of people making over $1000 their first week. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of those people. I made about $300, and to me that is good money! I am only 3 days in now, and am about $50 short of being at $300!
So, here are some things that I wish I knew before I started camming:
1. Have baby wipes near by! I remember having to "cancel" a private because I needed to clean my toy. Luckily the guy was understanding and came back, but it would have been so much easier if I had some wipes nearby!
2. Have everything near you, nearby! This includes: heels, toys, lubricant, stockings, oil, costumes, and even REGULAR clothes! I had a client who wanted me to put on various sweatpants and briefs for him. You never know what someone likes and you could potentially receive a low rating for being "unprepared" if they have to wait for you to get what you need.
3. Have good lighting! Just the light in my room isn't enough, and I find myself needing to use my lamp for more light! Even with that lamp, I need more light. For good lighting, you may need more than 2 light sources.
4. The person that you are in the bedroom MAY NOT be the person that you are in your show! Sometimes with my boyfriend, I can be quite dominant and a dirty talker. I had a private this morning where a guy wanted me to talk dirty to him & I pretty much failed at it. It just didn't feel right. Although you're still getting paid, you are subjecting yourself to negative feedback if you say your expertise is "domination" and you are not dominant.
Overall, I enjoyed my first week of camming. There is something that is thrilling about being able to make money at any time. I sometimes wake up at 4am and think, "damn! I could make money right now if I want to!" Most nights, I go back to sleep, but just that thought makes me happy! Being a camwhore has made me embrace my body more and has also made me feel more beautiful.
Well....that's it for my reflections. I have finals this week, but I am going to try and cam as much as I can this week since I will be going home for three weeks and won't be able to cam from home on our shitttttty internet!
